Since December 10th, 2022, the Taiwanese government has loosened border quarantine regulations and canceled the limit on the number of inbound tourists. However, as of December 28th, five cases of foreigners entering the country illegally with pork products have been discovered at the international airport. Those of them who didn't immediately pay the fines received punishment and were even denied entry into the country. With the upcoming Lunar New Year, National Immigration Agency hereby to reminds new immigrants and migrant workers not to bring pork products imported from infected area of African Swine Fever to Taiwan when entering the country to avoid fines.

The number of foreign visitors to Taiwan is rising as the country increasingly eases border quarantine restrictions. Five immigrants from African swine fever-affected nations were discovered and seized. These immigrants were unfamiliar with Taiwan's laws and regulations. Among them, four tourists who traveled to Taiwan for sightseeing were all denied entry into the nation in accordance with the law because they were unable to pay a NT$200,000 fine immediately. Another migrant worker who was making his first job application in Taiwan was unable to pay a NT$200,000 fine. His family ultimately paid the fine, allowing him to enter the nation.

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, in order to prevent the African swine fever epidemic from invading during the Spring Festival, National immigration Agency once again reminded new immigrants and migrant workers not to bring meat products from area where there is an outbreak of African swine fever to Taiwan by yourself. And do not ask relatives and friends ship or express delivery meat products or processed foods contains meat to Taiwan. the violators will be fined maximum to NT$1 million, those who are unable to pay will be refused entry.

In addition to the relevant penalties for the sender, the recipient will also be fined NT$200,000 or NT$1 million depending on the number of violations. Don’t violate the regulations and be fined because miss the taste of hometown and spoil the festive atmosphere.
