The Kaohsiung City Motor Vehicles Office specially reminds the law has been amended to officially stipulate that the license plate must be attaches to mini electric two-wheeled vehicles before they can be used on the road to improve the road safety.

The license plate must be registered, picked up, and attached to mini electric two-wheeled vehicles within two years of November 30th, 2022, in accordance with the act. Directorate General of Highways has launched free vehicles inspections of NT$ 450 from now until the end of December 2023 to encourage owners to complete the registration as soon as possible.

Although riding a mini electric two-wheeled vehicle does not require a driver's license, it requires the age must be at least 14 years old to mini electric two-wheeled vehicles and wearing helmets is mandatory. It is not allowed to give individuals a ride, and ride after consumed alcohol. The speed must not exceed 25 kilometers per hour, and modification is not allowed too.

In addition, the transfer of vehicle ownership must be registered and handled in the offices of Directorate General of Highways. Vehicle inspections are required five years after a vehicle leaves the factory.
