"Celebrating the Power of Unity" was the topic of the Human Rights Foundation's Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF), which took place in Taiwan. According to OFF Founder Thor Halvorssen, Taiwan is leading the globe in both democracy and autocracy. He aims to use this platform to convince Taiwan that defending freedom and democracy is something that should be done elsewhere in the world.

Halvorssen noted that the Oslo Freedom Forum was launched in 2009, whereas the Human Rights Foundation was founded in 2004. 15 years have passed since the forum's founding. It has been to Taiwan four times this year.

According to Halvorssen, each time the Oslo Freedom Forum is hosted in Taiwan, it is met with a warm reception and presents a significant chance for the Taiwanese people to learn about the struggle for freedom of expression and other rights, whether it be in Africa, Latin America, or any other place, they are all significant global ideals.
