Vietnam culinary class held on May 18 at Yilan New Residents Learning Center

In order to promote exchanges between new residents and the new second-generation for better understanding of their home country’s culture, the Yilan County New Residents Learning Center will open a Vietnamese culinary class on Saturday, 18th. Students can learn how to make grilled pork with noodles and Pho at the event. No fee is charged for this class.

Vietnamese cuisine is popular in Taiwan. Classic dishes include Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls, Vietnamese bread, Vietnamese crepe, grilled pork with rice noodles , Cao Lau noodles, Thang Long Grilled fish,  Quang-style noodles, Banana Blossom Salad, Rice with Grilled Pork Cho, etc. The Yilan County New Residents Learning Center cooperates with Yilan Liming Elementary School to hold this event from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on May 18 at the New Residents' Guild Hall (No. 248, Section 2, Nuzhong Road, Yilan City). The number of applicants is limited to 20 people. The new residents of Yilan County and their children are given priority, and the general public is allowed to join if there are not enough applicants registered.

She has a pair of twins, overcomes cultural differences, language difficulties and sets up  the New Residents Development Association with her fellow-sisters. In addition to providing language assistance for new residents, the New Residents Development Association is more active in introducing various activities to introduce Vietnamese culture and promote exchanges.
