101 stations established in New Taipei City to provide welfare services to those in need, including immigrants

Social Welfare Department, New Taipei City Government has been promoting services provided at welfare stations. It is to achieve the aim of offering welfare services for at least 2 of the target groups, including children, young, old, disabled, women, immigrants, indigenous people, single-parent families. At present, there are already 101 stations set up for those in need.

Zhang Jin Li (張錦麗), the Director of Social Welfare Department of New Taipei City Government, stated that community care stations, silver age clubs, meals for the elderly, small satellites (after-school tutoring for children), public childcare centers, service centers and care stations for immigrants and single-parent families, service centers for homeless people, and physical banks, etc. have been established in New Taipei City.

On February 17, the New Taipei City Government invited Wei Ti Xiang (魏悌香) - chairman of the Christian Cultural Exchange Association, and Elder Li Shao Lun (黎少倫) - the vice-chairman of the TVBS Faith, Hope and Love Sustainable Foundation, and other church leaders, as well as social service groups, to hold a briefing session.

Hou You Yi (侯友宜), the New Taipei City Mayor, mentioned that the church carries out good deeds silently at the grassroots level, and hopes to deepen cooperation in the future and provide more diversified services for the stations.

Mayor Hou also said that he also visited the Andrew Charity Association founded by Wei Ti Xiang (魏悌香), and delivered about 6,000 to 7,000 food boxes to disadvantaged families every month. It is hoped that through the care stations and volunteers’ works, more people would be able to benefit from the services in the future.
