7000 Migrant Worker Act Compilation Copies All Out, New Taipei Provides an Online Version to Call for Legal Employment

The Labor Affairs Department of New Taipei City Department has released the "4th Migrant Worker Act Cases Records Compilation" at the end of November in 2019. In just one week after printing out, more than 7,000 copies had been taken all, and it caused a great response and discussion among employers and private employment services. It is hoped that the public understands the common cases of violations of law, and truly implements the knowledge of regulations in their lives to reduce possible violations of law and improve labor-management relations. To enhance the effectiveness of the advocacy, the online version has been provided for people to download from now on.

The number of migrant workers in New Taipei City has exceeded 98,000 that nationally ranks third. By November, up to 755 cases had been punished for violations of laws related to the employment management of foreign workers, including "hiring foreigners without permissions, invalid permits, or other people's applications for employment" and "assigning foreigners to be employed to work outside the permit" that account for the most.

To enhance the nationals' understanding of migrant workers' employment and relevant management acts, the Labor Affairs Department has particularly compiled practical cases that present case studies of employments and assignments in a case-by-case way. The administrative processes that should be paid attention to before employment and the matters needing attention of agents are provided. Moreover, there is also a short version of procedures introduction for foreign workers to be applied by employers in the household, manufacturing (construction) industry, marine fisheries, and nursing agencies. This simple introduction of cases for employers who haven't hired a migrant worker or employers who have hired a migrant worker can help them avoid violating laws. To serve the wider public, the Labor Affairs Department has produced an e-book that is now available on 新北勞動雲/勞工刊物/外勞資訊通 for Download.
