As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the rich content of gift boxes brings more satisfaction than their flashy appearance. However, excessive packaging not only wastes resources but also burdens the environment. To address this, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is holding a gift box packaging review event this Mid-Autumn Festival to guide the public in choosing eco-friendly gift products and reducing packaging waste to protect the Earth.

Packaging reduction has always been a key environmental issue in Taiwan. Since 2005, Taiwan has implemented regulations to "limit excessive product packaging," targeting gift boxes of pastries, cosmetics, alcohol, CDs, and processed foods, by controlling the number of packaging layers and volume ratios. The Circular Agency urges the public to follow the "One More Three Less" principle when purchasing Mid-Autumn Festival gift boxes, selecting those with "more product content, less packaging material, fewer types of materials, and less printing" to support environmental protection.

This gift box review will be judged by experts based on green design concepts such as packaging volume, layers, materials, and overall design. The winning gift boxes will be announced before the Mid-Autumn Festival to commend environmentally-friendly businesses and encourage the public to choose eco-friendly gift boxes, celebrating a green festival together.Explanation of the Mid-Autumn Green Design Gift Box Review (photo / taken from the Ministry of Environment's official website)
