The Chiayi County Police Department have received a report from a Malaysian college student that she had joined an investment group and had put her money totaling 120,000 NTD in stocks. However, the college student had been scammed and her life was in danger. The police provided the female college student with 20,000 NTD for an emergency and teamed up with her to arrest the suspect.

The police took advantage of the fraudulent group’s request for the Malaysian college student to remit money again and asked the fraudulent group to take the cash in person on the grounds of safety. The police lurked at the location and arrested the suspect who came to take the money.

In order to avoid falling victim to fraudulent groups and being scammed of money, the police urge the public to manage and invest their money legally and never to trust unidentified groups or the financial advice included in unidentified text messages.
