Christmas in a Taiwanese Style, New Residents Singing the"Taiwanese Christmas Song"

"The north wind is screaming, who is hiding, a bag of gifts that Santa Claus is carrying..." That's right! This is the Taiwanese version of the Christmas song. The National Immigrant Agency of the Ministry of the Interior held in advance a Christmas event at the Station Front Metro Mall of Taipei station today. Many new residents from various countries participated, such as Vietnam, Myanmar, and China to lead other participants to sing along. The minister of the Ministry of the interior, Xu Guoyong, also showed up and enjoyed together with the new residents.
Xu Guoyong stated, "Taiwan is a multicultural society, and every single new resident who came to Taiwan is our new strength of the nation. I saw these new resident friends that were good at singing the Taiwanese version of the Christmas song. They brought about much joy for us, and I also appreciated their efforts of learning the native language and adapting the local life.

The National Immigrant Agency of the Ministry of the Interior indicated, "These new resident friends who were the leaders of singing today regularly participate in the "New residents Learning Taiwanese and Ballads Class" organized by the Eden Social Welfare Foundation and work hard to learn the native language. This time, we particularly invited them to sing at the opening of the Christmas event that they had the idea of singing this Taiwanese version of the Christmas song, and they can also check their results of Taiwanese learning. Without a doubt, as soon as their beautiful voices came out, the crowd responded with great enthusiasm. "

The Ministry of the Interior said that to help new residents to adapt to the life in Taiwan, the government has promoted various care counseling measures, such as "First Entry Care Interview Service", "Family Education Courses", " Life Advisory Service Hotline for Foreigners in Taiwan 7 languages" (0800-024-111), “Global News for New Immigrants website”, and “New Resident Development Information Network” etc. It shows that the government attaches great importance to the new residents so that new residents have no worries when living in Taiwan.
