Migrant workers arriving in Taiwan are required to complete a 14-day home quarantine and 7-day self-health monitoring procedure

As the coronavirus pandemic keeps raging on, the Taiwanese government is paying more attention to the incoming migrant workers in Taiwan.  

Ministry of Labor announced, migrant workers arriving in Taiwan are required to complete a 14-day collective quarantine or home quarantine period. And afterward, they have to complete the 7-days of self-health monitoring procedures.

For quarantine violation, employers would be fined from 50,000 to 100,0000 NTD.  

In other words, migrant workers engaged in marine fisheries, domestic help, nursing work, and industrial work, have to complete another 7 days of self-health monitoring procedures after they have completed their 14-day collective quarantine or home quarantine period.

The self-health monitoring procedures require migrant workers to follow the one person per room principle. If people have to share a room with others, they have to maintain 1.5 meters of social distance. Remember to prepare sufficient soap, hand sanitizer, or 75% alcohol, and keep your hands clean.    

The Director of the Department of Labor Chen Xin-Yu reminds people to keep a social distance from others, remember to keeps their masks on, and maintain hand hygiene and keep the environment clean. 

Employers should remind migrant workers to follow the quarantine requirements as they arrive in Taiwan. And if migrant workers are found of quarantine violation, employers will be fined according to the law.
