Giant Adorable Creatures Invade Caowu Square! Taichung International Animation Festival's 10th Anniversary Celebration is Here!

The Taichung International Animation Festival celebrates its grand 10th anniversary with the debut of new characters "Bing Bing" and "Liang Liang," making surprise appearances at PARK2 Caowu Square from September 1 to October 31. These new check-in hotspots symbolize Taichung’s famous sun cake and bubble tea, with giant balloons towering 4 meters high on platforms over 10 meters tall, inviting visitors of all ages to experience the magic of the animation world.

"Bing Bing" represents Taichung's iconic sun cake, while "Liang Liang" holds a bubble tea, representing Taichung’s signature drink. These two adorable giant characters have quickly become the festival highlight, drawing crowds who come to take photos and share on social media, making Caowu Square a favorite spot for influencers.

During the festival, the organizers also host a "Cute Check-in for a Calendar" event. Animation fans who capture cute moments of "Bing Bing" and "Liang Liang" at the square, post the photos on social media with the tag “@tiaf.taichung” and comment "Happy 10th Anniversary TIAF" will have the chance to win a limited 2025 desk calendar. In addition to the giant IP installations, the festival also includes a series of warm-up events. From September 21 to 22, the Citizen Square will host the "TIAF Animation Carnival," featuring outdoor screenings of Pixar classics "Inside Out" and "Cars." Families and friends can gather to enjoy these beloved films on the big outdoor screen, adding to the excitement of the upcoming 10th-anniversary celebration.

According to the Taichung City Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau, this year’s 10th anniversary festivities highlight the rich charm of animation art, with both outdoor installations and screenings.
