New Taiwanese Children Join Community Services and Together Protect This Land

As a second-generation child of new residents, Li Yichen, whose mom is from Hunan of China, says, " I have never encountered improper or impolite treatment or discrimination.". No one knows her mother is a new resident if she didn't tell others, and his growth has been quite smooth.

She's now a sophomore and introduced to participate in the multiple empowerment course of Eden Social Welfare Foundation since the fourth grade of elementary school, and she never skipped class before.
Li Yichen states that during this twice-monthly course, she has been exposed to empathy, character education, photography, and service-oriented teaching content since he was little. She has become not afraid of unknown things, gradually willing to help others, and not always worried about results.

This year, she even serves as the coordinator of the sharing activities of the new second-generation services learning experience workshop. For the first time, she leads other students to work together and hopes that by sharing, they would let more people understand their experiences as young farmers.

Li Yichen introduces that this year's course is different from the past. She went to Hsinchu farmland to participate in a one-week experience camp. She followed the farmers to transplant and pull out seedlings and mix fertilizers. Although they all did little things, she could appreciate the hard work of the farmers. It was very worthwhile!

Li Yizheng, who is studying at the Department of Airline Service Management, also met with the farmer owner's daughter-in-law who had been a ground attendant in class and learned a lot of industry information. At present, Li Yizheng has taken the initiative to take the opportunity as a volunteer for customs clearance services at the airport of the National Immigrant Agency. It is expected that she will go to the airport during winter and summer vacations for providing services and preparing for the future.

Everyone is a family as long as they grow up in this land. Although she may lose the opportunity of going to the Eden Social Welfare Foundation because of her career exploration in the future, Li Yizheng will still make good use of what she has learned on this land and prove that the second-generation children can also protect this land as Taiwanese children.
