Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology has a total of 173 foreign students. Dou to the epidemic, many students have not returned to their home countries for three years. At the end of the year, the school specially held a "Appreciation Event", allowing students from all over the globe to gather together to share different cultures through songs and dances.

The Covid-19 epidemic caused more than 6 million deaths worldwide, and the Russo-Ukrainian war has caused more than 12 million Ukrainian refugees to flee. Foreign students took the stage to sing "We Are The World" to express their yearning for freedom and peace. Nadiia Derii from Ukraine is a freshman in the Department of Information Technology and Management of TCUST. Nadiia said that she cherishes the opportunity to study safely. Although Chinese is difficult, she will still study hard for it.

20 Filipino students from the third Department of Long-term Care of Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology also performed Filipino songs and dances on stage. Aila, a freshman in the department, said that although she did not return to the Philippines to reunite with her family, she felt the warmth for the company of teachers and Yide mothers at Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology.
