In order to implement the teaching of Chinese language in the New Southbound, the Ministry of Education has promoted the project of the Chinese Language Teacher Resource Center and, for the first time, the "Course for Chinese language teachers of the Ministry of Education" targeting professional teachers from the New Southbound. Indeed, the quality of teaching is vital to strengthen the Chinese language ability of foreign students from the New Southbound.
The Ministry of Education provides intensive training for international Chinese language teachers to improve their professional skills. The course features include customized training for the Chinese language teachers from the New Southbound, such as the design of educational resources, textbooks and activities, the course also provides Chinese language proficiency accreditations.
In order to help New Southbound foreign students to adapt to a new learning environment for foreign students, they also offer ethics courses for teachers, such as class management, classroom counseling skills and psychological counseling. The course is diverse and includes 150 hours of fundamental, online and professional topics, as well as ethical and practical courses, tutoring information for students and exchange discussions.
After the completion of the course, the counseling and consultation mechanism will continue to be provided to ensure the teaching quality of each teacher, promoting the growth and mutual learning of the teacher community, and helping teachers to adapt to the educational environment and improve their strategies.
In order to meet the needs of the new southbound countries for the cultivation of professional and technical talents, since 2017, the Ministry of Education has also set up a special class to promote international cooperation in colleges and universities. Their goal is to lead the colleges and universities of our country to develop substantive education with ASEAN and South Asian countries, strengthen mutual interaction and alliance relations.
