Planning transportation across cities is a key part of independent travel. Starting April 1, Taiwan has launched an upgraded version of the “Taiwan PASS,” simplifying five previous products into two options for easier use.

The new version includes a High Speed Rail pass priced at NT$2,800 for international travelers and a TRA pass priced at NT$2,500 available to both domestic and international users. Both options offer unlimited travel for three days, making them suitable for long-distance trips.

The pass also integrates MRT systems in four major cities. Travelers can choose one MRT option and one of 15 shuttle services to tourist destinations, making it easier to connect urban areas with attractions.

Popular routes such as Cingjing, Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, and Kenting are included, along with options like the Alishan Forest Railway and regional transport passes.

Additional flexible services such as 24-hour scooter rentals, taxi vouchers, and one-day bus tours are also included, offering more convenience and flexibility.
