The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, 中央流行疫情指揮中心) announced that in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, many countries are still in severe condition, and the Delta variant continues to spread. To prevent the spread of the epidemic in the country, the CECC announced that starting at midnight of August 27 (based on the time of flight arrival in Taiwan), arriving passengers should take "quarantine vehicles" to go to the quarantine locations, and they are not allowed to drive by themselves.

Chen Shi-chung (陳時中), the commander of the CECC, said that since the Delta variant is highly contagious and to prevent arriving passengers from having contact with other people if they go to the quarantine site by themselves, it is mandatory that only quarantine vehicles should be used to go to the quarantine site. At the same time, the 14-day quarantine policy is still maintained; this way, Taiwan's economy will not be affected, and the economic growth rate has been very good for the past two years.

In addition, all arriving passengers and their families are reminded that this measure is to prevent the passengers from driving to the quarantine site by themselves, to lessen the chance of contact with other people, thus, reducing the risk of virus transmission. The public must cooperate to maintain the community’s epidemic prevention and safety.
