Atopic dermatitis often causes discomfort for children, especially with common symptoms like itching and dry, flaky skin. This chronic skin condition is closely related to genetics, environment, and physical constitution, and it is often seen in children under the age of five. Symptoms such as red rashes on the hands and feet, thickened skin, or even oozing wounds are characteristic of recurring atopic dermatitis flare-ups. In addition to using medications prescribed by doctors, acupoint massage can help alleviate discomfort and even reduce the frequency of flare-ups.

Pressing the Sanyinjiao Acupoint to Relieve Itching
The Sanyinjiao acupoint is a key point for improving atopic dermatitis. It is located on the inner side of the leg, about four finger widths above the tip of the inner ankle. Massaging this acupoint helps regulate the spleen and stomach, thereby improving the skin condition. The specific method is to use the fingertip of the thumb to press vertically on the acupoint, massaging for 3 to 5 minutes on each leg. This can help relieve the child's skin discomfort.

Triple Approach with Medication, Diet, and Environment for Enhanced Results
Although massage can alleviate discomfort, to truly improve dermatitis, medication, diet, and environment must be managed simultaneously. Doctors may prescribe immunosuppressants, antihistamines, or corticosteroids depending on the symptoms. In terms of diet, avoiding sweets, sugary drinks, and fried foods can significantly aid skin recovery.

Maintaining a clean home environment is also crucial, especially regularly cleaning bedding. Reducing exposure to dust mites can effectively prevent allergens from triggering symptoms and help children stay free from the troubles of dermatitis.
