A disaster relief demonstration of the LUF60 Firefighting Robot was recently held by the Taipei City Fire Department. Through this exercise, it is intended that the general public will get an understanding of how using fire-fighting robots may enhance disaster relief efforts while also ensuring the protection of lives and property.

The LUF60 Firefighting Robot, which was recently debuted, is a disaster relief equipment that is now in use in more developed nations like the United States and Europe, according to the Taipei City Fire Department.

Its main features are chemical foam, water mist cooling, smoke exhaust, and water injection for combating fires. It is powered by a diesel engine and controlled by a remote control. There are also more functions like climbing hills and removing obstacles. In addition to increasing the effectiveness of disaster relief efforts, firemen may now remotely operate robots to enter hazardous places, lowering the possibility that they will come into contact with explosives or extremely hot flames.

The Taipei City Fire Department stated that because the Shezi Island area is home to numerous metal-sheet factories, if a fire breaks out, it will be challenging to put out because of the heavy fire load. This could lead to the fire spreading quickly and creating the issue of long-term disaster relief. Consequently, the LUF60 Firefighting Robot that was unveiled this time When it comes to disaster assistance, the 4th Battalion Fuan Fire Brigade of the Fire Station will have priority use of it.
