TAICCA unveils Metaverse themed expo, introducing Taiwan's content to international audiences

According to the Ministry of Culture, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) has announced that the second edition of the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) will be held at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SCCP) in Taipei from Nov. 10 to 14.

The 2021 TCCF features "The Market," "The Forum," and "The Expo," as well as side events "NEXT Academy" and "Garden Mingle - Field Practice," inviting local and international content buyers and general audience to experience the latest Taiwanese content driven by technology and creativity.

Those present at the opening ceremony on Nov. 9 included Vice President Lai Ching-te (賴清德), TAICCA chairperson Ting Hsiao-ching (丁曉菁), TAICCA CEO Lee Ming-che (李明哲), Chunghwa Telecom president Harrison Kuo (郭水義), Yeh Jer-liang (葉哲良), executive secretary of Executive Yuan's Office of Science and Technology, Yang Meng-ying (楊孟穎), director of the Kaohsiung Film Archive, Huang Chao-ying (黃昭穎), general manager for the HTC Vive in the Asia-Pacific region, among others.

With "Metaverse Playground (未來宇宙遊戲場)" as its theme, this year's exhibition will explore the boundaries of physical and virtual realities, what the metaverse represents in the next stage of cultural content technology, and what it means to human beings as we enter the metaverse era.

The Expo will present 15 projects, including the world premiere of the VR experience, "Bedlam," a UK, France, and Taiwan co-production; "Samsara (輪迴)" by acclaimed new-media artist Huang Hsing-chien (黃心健), Venice VR nominee "The Sick Rose (病玫瑰)," as well as the "5G VR Cloud" program in partnership with Taiwan’s largest telecom company, Chunghwa Telecom.

Audiences in Taiwan can experience TCCF at SCCP, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung, the Kaohsiung VR Film Lab, and various Chunghwa Telecom store locations.
