December 18 of each year is the International Migrants Day established by the UN. This day is aimed to appreciate and respect the contributions made by more than 20 million people.
Yunlin County Government particularly held "Yunlin Living Happily with New Residents" on the 15th to celebrate together with the new residents living in the county. Yunlin County Service Station of Southern Administration Corps of the NIA also set a stand and made good use of fun games to interact with the public for advocating relevant policies and to let the public feel the services and the concern of the NIA.
Not only did the station handle new residents' residency expansion and the visits of families but it regularly held the activities of family education and policies advocacy about residency policies, relevant social welfare, and health education. During the event of Migrants Day, the station combined rigid policies with lively games and invited the public to challenge. It was expected that people could more understand the services provided by the station by participating in this educative entertainment.
Moreover, in response to the Presidential and Vice-presidential Election and the Legislative Election, Yunlin County Service Station also prepared the advocacy booklets in Chinese, English, Indonesian, and Thai for the new residents at the event. Apart from some common bribery means, the relevant punishments of bribery and reporting bonuses were introduced. New residents were also expected to fight together against bribery and "clean up" the voting system.
The director of Yunlin County Service Station, Huang Wen Zheng, states that the number of new residents living in Yunlin County has been more than 17,000. The celebration event for Migrants Day this year was expected to let the public more understand the results of the station's services by participating in the games and the relevant policies of anti-bribery. People were also reminded of not being involved in the traps of bribery and called on to call the Yunlin County Service Station Reporting Line: 05-5345971 if they sense pieces of information of bribery.
