• Measures to protect the national health insurance rights and interests Taiwanese

nationals whose household registration has moved abroad during the epidemic

Those whose household registration has moved abroad, with national health insurance withdrawn since January 1^st, 2018, as long as they return to Taiwan and restore their household registration during the period from January 1^st, 2020, to June 30^th, 2023, when registering in national health insurance, they may apply for the exemption of 6-month waiting period limit. (It was originally scheduled to end on December 31^st, 2011. Considering the epidemic situation and the planning period for Taiwanese nationals to return to Taiwan, the acceptance has been extended until June 30^th, 2012.)

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that for non-nationals who do not equip with national health insurance, e.g.: exchange students, tourists, etc., if they are confirmed positive for COVID-19 during their stay in Taiwan, the cost of isolation and treatment must be paid by the confirmed person.

Citizens of the Republic of China (regardless of whether they equip with national health insurance), non-nationals with national health insurance, and foreigners employed in Taiwan, including blue-collar migrant workers, white-collar applicants, lost migrant workers, and foreign fishermen employed in Taiwan, etc. Relevant expenses during the isolation and treatment of confirmed cases will still be covered by the government budget.
