According to 2.5-M Filipinos to get rice, cash aid in two weeks, says Romualdez | Inquirer News, rice and cash assistance would be sent to at least 2.5 million Filipinos over the course of the next two weeks, according to Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Speaker of the House.

The House of Representatives and Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) are launching the Malaya Rice Project as he makes Romualdez’s remark.

Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said he had requested 33 House members in Metro Manila to name 10,000 needy persons per legislative district who will first get the help during a news conference on Thursday (October 5) night. According to 2.5-M Filipinos to get rice, cash aid in two weeks, says Romualdez | Inquirer News, 15 kilos of rice and a P1,000 cash reward will be given to each recipient.

In more than 250 legislative districts around the nation, the program aims to assist 2.5 million Filipinos.
