Taoyuan City has diverse and rich ethnic features, and its number of new residents and migrant workers ranks fourth and first respectively in Taiwan. To welcome the arrival of the International Migrants Day, Taoyuan City Government is going to hold “Taoyuan’s 2019 International Migrants Day Carnival” on December 15 at the square in front of the city government to award the models of new residents and to provide several booths of creative market, ethnic cuisines, and DIY activities. Citizens are invited to participate in this grand event, and the Taoyuan City Government also looks forward to establishing a friendly city for new residents by holding activities and continuously improving the protection of new residents’ and migrant workers’ rights.
Taoyuan City Government held the press of “Taoyuan’s 2019 International Migrants Day Carnival” on 6th, the mayor of Taoyuan City, Zheng Wencan, also attended and explained to the public that the city government had promoted many policies for new residents’ and migrant workers’ rights and mentioned the carnival would officially laud the 2019th outstanding models of new residents, excellent customer service personnel, friendly communities for new residents, friendly schools for new residents, and friendly enterprises for new residents that divided into 5 categories totalizing 24 award winners. It was hoped that the award ceremony would lead citizens to further understand the diverse appearances of new residents. The city government is also now open to accept new residents who have the right of residence to apply for citizen cards, and the booths will be set up to assist in the application at the event. Furthermore, the city government started handling optimizing convenient household services and promoted the “Auto Notification for Naturalization Services” and “Naturalization Test Services” for new residents to conduct a marriage registration, to apply for naturalization after an expired presidency, and to fasten the progress of issuing identity cards…etc.
