The Taoyuan City Government announced that beauty salons will be closed from June 4 to June 14. Business owners must comply with the regulations including regular disinfection and reminding customers to maintain good hygiene after their sessions. If customers do not cooperate, business owners can refuse to provide their services.

Taoyuan City Beauty Salons: 8 Epidemic Prevention Measures

  1. Contact tracing, temperature measurement, and hand disinfection must be done.
  2. Staff must wear masks and protective gear all throughout the sessions.
  3. The seating and waiting areas must be separated from the main operating area. Lines and crowds must be controlled.
  4. Premises and equipment must be disinfected regularly, especially towels before being used again.
  5. No eating within the premises.
  6. Customers are encouraged to wash their hair again once they return home.
  7. All customers must cooperate with on-site epidemic prevention measures.

Taoyuan City mayor Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦) pointed out that the 7th rule is more of encouragement rather than a mandatory rule. Business owners have the right to refuse service if customers do not cooperate.

After these guidelines are implemented, hopefully, the spread of the virus will be controlled better in beauty and hair salon businesses.
