Lunghwa University of Science and Technology has more than a thousand foreign students studying this semester, and more than half of them are the Southeast Asia students from the New Southbound International Programs of Industry-Academia Collaboration and The Industry-Academia Cooperative Education Program for Overseas Compatriot Students. Many of these foreign students are from poor families and struggling with their living expenses and their studies even if they have opportunities to come to Taiwan to study. Hence, the Alumni Service Centre of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology specially called on the Alumni to donate materials to help them regardless of their nationality, and Many disadvantaged students are saved from hunger, allowing them to concentrate on their studies.

Foreign students are not qualified as disadvantaged students, so they cannot apply for student loans. Many students have chosen to work hard to deduct living expenses, but there is not much left. Zhang Cunxiao, an outstanding alumnus of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology and the chairman of Chin Min Bread Co., LTD., regularly provides approximately 500 servings of bread a week; additionally, in order to avoid the cold of winter, the Alumni Service Centre also held a "warm clothing delivery in winter" event to recruit second-hand new clothes from outside of school for the students with free access so that these students from tropical countries would have a warm winter and feel the warmth of Taiwan.

Siu-Huan Sung, the director of the Alumni Service Centre of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, states that many alumni’s gratefulness for the school comes from the cultivation of Lunghwa. They joined the Lunghwa Entrepreneurs Association after they have made their marks in their profession, deepened the connections with the school, and simultaneously held their great appreciation to give it back to the school. They provided scholarships and various materials to reward disadvantaged juniors to complete their studies, encourage them to be single-minded studying, working hard, acquiring professional knowledge and skills, and changing their predicaments in life.
