In response to the approaching Labor Day holiday, the Environmental Protection Administration has worked with local governments' disinfection brigades to conduct cleaning and disinfection for community facilities between April 29 to May 4. A total of 1550 public places will be comprehensively disinfected, including 320 traffic stations, 550 shopping areas, 680 parks and tourist sites. The Environmental Protection Administration stated that each local government will adjust the frequency of disinfection according to crowds, take into account stores' opening hours to avoid crowds, and ask people to follow the Central Epidemic Command Center's policies.

The Environmental Protection Administration pointed out that the disinfection brigade is composed of 3,000 members from various local environmental protection departments and is indispensable for epidemic prevention work during this virus crisis. The brigade is assigned to daily disinfect public areas where people usually gather. If any confirmed case is found, environmental protection units will immediately report it to the local environmental protection departments. After receiving the report, the disinfection brigade will go to the reported place and undertake comprehensive disinfection. Since March 25, Taiwan has undertaken 16,000 times of disinfection in public areas. During the Labor Day holiday, nearly 1000 disinfections will have been carried out, and the CECC has reminded that 11 tourist sites will be disinfected.

As the Labor Day holiday is approaching, the Environmental Protection Administration has worked with local environmental protection departments to list the places needed to be disinfected, including train stations, MRT stations, highway bus stations, taxi stations, night markets, shopping areas, and various tourist sites, with a total of 1550 places.

The Environmental Protection Administration has also asked businesses' owners to follow relevant policies, undertake full disinfection, and post a sign, "the site has been disinfected", to make the public feel assured.
