To provide new immigrants with more detailed information on daily life, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) gathered information on welfare and rights related to new immigrants’ lives, employment, education, and health and built the website - ‘New Immigrants’ Development Information’ since 2016. The website has entered its 5th year now.

The Director of NIA, Zhong Jing Kun (鐘景琨), attended the ‘Empowered New Immigrants & Heart Connection’ event held at the Sunshine Hall(陽光大廳)of Daan Park Station on November 20 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the ‘New Immigrants Development Information’ website.

The event was unveiled by an exotic dance performance by 6 new immigrants of different nationalities. Followed by the documentary that brought all participants to walk through the time tunnel and enjoy the highlights of the website over the 5 years. Whether it is the new immigrants’ articles, paintings, and award-winning visual works, the integration of local cultures and cultural pluralism fully demonstrates Taiwan's rich culture & humanities.

One of the winners, teacher Yang Shui Fen (楊水粉) from National Changhua Special School, participated in the overseas empowerment program to accompany new immigrant families to visit relatives in Vietnam. She expressed her gratitude towards NIA that the activities organized allowed multicultural exchanges to take root in education in Taiwan.

The Director of NIA, Zhong Jing Kun, states that ‘New Immigrants’ Development Information’ plays an important role in disseminating multilingual information about African swine fever, COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, vaccination, immigration, relief package and stimulus vouchers. Besides new immigrant families, foreigners are able to keep themselves updated with the latest information, and this shows the effectiveness of the website’s functions that provide rich & diversified information and holistic care to foreigners residing in Taiwan.
