In order to celebrate the agency’s 132 anniversary, the Taiwan Railway Company has cooperated with Chunghwa Post to launch a "Taiwan railway and postal fold yearbook”「鐵道郵台灣」 with voice effect.
"Taiwan railway and postal fold yearbook"「鐵道郵台灣」 is the first set of railway-themed audio stamp book. The cover is designed based on the DT668 steam locomotive which was fully repaired in the 100th year of the Taiwan calendar. When pressing the button on the book, the sound of the steam locomotive whistling can be heard.
There are 4 business card-style tickets modifying Taiwan’s main stations, including Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Hualien, as well as a stamp-collection part, stamps of local train stations, souvenirs of stations, etc. A total of 5,000 yearbook sets were issued, and each set costs NT$320 which is now available at all Taiwan Railway ticket booths in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung stations.
In addition, the Taiwan Railway and the Lili Social Welfare Charity Foundation has jointly held the "Taiwan Railway paintings and Taiwan Architectural Heritage Exhibition", which displays 50 paintings of 29 famous painters.
Among them, 35 paintings are about the heritage buildings with the railway culture as the main axis of Taiwan history that will be exhibited in Taichung, Kaohsiung and Hualien stations. The public are welcomed to the exhibition to understand more about the unique architectures and historical development of Taiwan railway.
