This year's "International Youth Ambassador Exchange Program" (國際青年大使交流計畫) was just launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an effort to inspire Taiwan's youth to engage in and practice active diplomacy. The young ambassador delegation will go to Caribbean ally Saint Lucia for ten days in September of this year after successfully completing the member selection and training. MOFA looks forward to strengthening the connection between Taiwan and Saint Lucia and boosting Taiwan's multicultural soft power.

This year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects to choose 40 young ambassadors. They will collaborate with the Ministry of Labor to choose technical and vocational students who have won culinary awards in addition to selecting candidates with experience in English publicity introduction or cultural skill, and they will employ Taiwanese teaching methods. The exceptional culinary abilities displayed by the locally grown ingredients serve to bind the two nations' people and demonstrate Taiwan's friendliness.

The "International Youth Ambassador Exchange Program" deadline for this year is June 30, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Application for the selection is open to students under the age of 35 who are Republic of China (Taiwan) citizens and are enrolled in colleges or graduate schools.
