The second "Taiwan-Japan Fruit Summer Festival" (台日水果夏祭) has recently taken place on Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Office of the President. It is jointly organized by the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC), the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association. The two-day festival included thrilling performances in addition to 41 stands offering fruits from Taiwan and Japan.

One of Taiwan's key trading partners in agriculture is Japan. Sales of pineapples to Japan reached 15,456 metric tons at the end of July this year, making up 77% of all exports. Izumi Hiroyasu, the representative of Taipei Office, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association stated that the Fruit Summer Festival has made it possible for him to fulfill a lifelong dream of bringing Japanese fruits to Taiwan. He wishes for the "Taiwan-Japan Fruit Summer Festival" (台日水果夏祭) to become an annual celebration of goodwill between Japan and Taiwan.

High-quality fruits flown to Taiwan from Japan, including muscat grapes, peaches, etc., as well as chestnuts from Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, are the features of the Taiwan-Japan Fruit Summer Festival. Buntan Pummelo, dragon fruit, guava, pineapple, papaya, pears, and other seasonal fruits are examples of Taiwanese produce. Japanese apples and muscat grapes are particularly well-liked by Taiwanese consumers, according to the MOA deputy minister (陳駿季). To make it simpler for Japanese visitors to Taiwan to locate seasonal fruits, the Ministry of Agriculture is preparing a Taiwan fruit map.
