According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, it would seem that "17" is a lucky number in the Binibining Pilipinas competition, as its bearers have won crowns in the three most recent editions, for many pageant spectators and those with a sharp eye on beauty contests.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no pageant was held in 2020, so Maria Ahtisa Manalo, Bea Patricia Magtanong, and Hannah Arnold were all "Binibini 17" in those years. They also shared the title of Bb. Pilipinas International.

The winner of the national competition's top beauty pageant this year is Chelsea Fernandez of Tacloban City, who many experts predict will carry on the number's winning record. However, the multi-talented beauty pageant veteran does not see any prophetic significance in the digits she bears.

"My attributes would most definitely help me win. I am confident that my advocacy, beauty, intelligence, and self-assurance will help me win one of the crowns, " Fernandez remarked, "Number 17 is just a bonus that I got it."

She is one of the six "beauty athletes" that the organization is preparing for the 2019 Bb. Pilipinas pageant.
