Employment Gold Card for Foreign Professionals Recruitment Released 500 ones in Nearly Three Years

“Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals” loosens the regulations of working, getting visas, and related residential issues, and optimizes insurance, tax, retirement, and other benefits to improve their working and residential environment for foreign professionals. More than 500 Employment Gold Cards have been issued for specific foreign professionals in various fields Since February 2018.

The Employment Gold Card is for foreign professionals with special expertise in eight major fields such as technology, economics, and finance, or a monthly salary of more than 160,000 NTD. They will be given a four- in- one The Employment Gold Card that combines work permit, a resident visa, a resident permit, and a re-entry permit. Analysis by specialty fields, the number of issued cardholders in the economic field is up to 273 which is accounting for 55% of the total issued; followed by 94 in the technology field (19%), 57 in the cultural field, and 39 in the financial field, and 33 in education field; 120 of them from the United States accounted the most for 24% of the total issued; followed by 64 from Hong Kong (13%), 41 from the United Kingdom, 33 from Malaysia, 30 from Denmark, 23 from Singapore, 21 from South Korea.

The National Development Council indicates that they have established an Employment Gold Cardholder's exclusive Facebook social platform to provide opportunities for further cooperation and the real-time online consulting services to assist cardholders to quickly integrate into work and life in Taiwan. It simultaneously shows that the Employment Gold Cardholders are highly valued by the government. Furthermore, the National Development Council has started working with LinkedIn, a global social media platform, to make foreign talents come and stay in Taiwan.
