A 53-year-old woman from the Philippines came to the Tainan City Police Department's De-Gau Police Station a few days ago with the intention of using the police to help her locate her long-lost son. After conducting research, the woman was able to reunite with her son, who she had not seen in 22 years.

The woman from the Philippines who immigrated to Taiwan 20 years ago had no choice but to dissolve her marriage there owing to economic reasons, thus she could only return to her birthplace to live alone, according to the police's interpretation. Since her son was very little at the time, he gradually lost contact with the woman over time.

But even after all these years, the woman has never stopped worrying about her son. She made a special journey to Taiwan in an effort to reunite her long-lost kid. Based on the woman's information, the police discovered that the boy's last name was Lin. They then followed the lead to further their investigation and eventually got in touch with her son, allowing the mother and son to be reunited.
