Pet owners, please pay attention: when taking your pets out for a walk, make sure to properly clean up their waste to avoid affecting the cleanliness and appearance of public spaces. According to statistics from the Taitung Environmental Protection Bureau, there were 41 complaints related to pet waste last year, and by the end of July this year, 43 cases have already been reported, reflecting the severity of the issue. The bureau reminds owners that failing to clean up pet waste can result in fines ranging from 1,200 to 6,000 NTD under the Waste Disposal Act. Pet owners are urged to carry pet waste bags and scoopers, keep their pets on a leash, and promptly clean up after them to help maintain the beauty of Taitung.

The Taitung County Government is actively promoting environmental protection. The Environmental Protection Bureau not only conducts inspections but also continuously encourages owners to keep their dogs on leashes and clean up waste during walks. Public areas like trails, parks, and recreational zones have signs promoting responsible pet ownership. According to the "Waste Cleanup Law", when domestic dogs defecate on roads or public places, owners have the obligation to remove their excrement. Violators may be fined from 1,200 yuan to 6,000 yuan. The Environmental Protection Bureau encourages citizens to become guardians of the environment. They not only advise each other in community and outdoor activities, but also use mobile phones or surveillance cameras to record dog defecation situations and provide them to the Environmental Protection Bureau for investigation and punishment, so as to jointly protect our living environment.

The Environmental Protection Agency emphasizes that you should pamper your furry children but do not let them do as they please. Owners should prepare poop cleaning tools and clean up easily without leaving poop, so as to make our Taitung environment cleaner and better. If you find dog feces contamination, you can call the toll-free complaint hotline 0800-066-666, or use the mobile APP "Public Nuisance Report" and the Pollution Report Online Acceptance System (https://ww3.moenv.gov.tw /) To make a complaint, the Environmental Protection Bureau is available 24 hours a day, all year round.

The Taitung County Government Environmental Protection Bureau is committed to promoting environmental protection and calls on everyone to work together to make Taitung a more beautiful and livable city.
