In order to encourage Taiwan and American high-tech research collaboration chances, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Education, Republic of China (China) led a delegation to the NAFSA: Association of International Educators, which was held in Washington, D.C., where 24 Taiwanese colleges and universities participated as well as numerous influential figures in the fields of education and culture. The head of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), who attended the occasion, stated that it will be crucial to promote Taiwan among those involved in international education.

According to the undersecretary of Ministry of Education, Taiwan and the US have achieved significant strides in recent years to advance Chinese education and collaborative research. Taiwan requires the US to send qualified English instructors from the United States, while the United States needs skilled Chinese educators from Taiwan. There are several potentials for collaboration between Taiwan and the United States in the high-tech research field, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, etc. The undersecretary expects that this trip would further improve educational links with the United States, particularly for institutions that provide additional exchange possibilities.

The head of the AIT reaffirmed that bilateral educational cooperation between Taiwan and the United States will be bolstered through numerous discussions and expressed excitement for Taiwan's booth at the NAFSA: Association of International Educators to promote the educational sector.

The Taiwanese ambassador to the United States emphasized that as educational collaboration between the two countries grows, it would not only assist to develop the abilities that society needs, but also improve relationships and promote understanding between different cultures.
