In a recent meeting at the Executive Yuan (EY, 行政院) on the current Covid-19 epidemic situation, The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, 衛生福利部) pointed out that the vaccine coverage rate in Taiwan has reached 30%, and the vaccine supplies have successively arrived, and the vaccination operations have continued smoothly. As the worldwide Covid-19 cases increase, and with the Tokyo Olympics in Japan, religious festivals in some countries, and long summer holidays in various countries with many people travelling, the global epidemic will accelerate, but Taiwan will continue to implement "strict border control" measures to maintain the safety of the country’s local communities.

The MOHW stated that the recent epidemic in Taiwan is stable and there are no deaths for several days, and the new cases are still concentrated in the northern region, with some cases of infection still to be verified. It is necessary to closely monitor the effects of the lowering of the epidemic alert and the relaxing of epidemic control measures. This is to control the development of the epidemic and to be able to respond immediately. "Precise epidemic response, medical care, and vaccination" have become the three important points for epidemic prevention.

In addition, in order to strengthen the capacity of local public health, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, 中央流行疫情指揮中心) launched the "epidemic investigation assistance platform" (疫調輔助平台) on July 26. Through data and images integration, and dynamic analysis across different regions, it has effectively reduced the labor burden on local epidemic investigation and improved epidemic prevention efficiency. At present, the vaccine coverage rate has reached 30% and the publicly funded “Covid-19 vaccination registration and reservation platform” has reopened, and domestic vaccine options have been added to provide the public with more choices.
