According to DSWD to give P1 billion worth of cash aid to Typhoon Egay victims | Inquirer News, families impacted by Typhoon Egay will get P1 billion in Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) support from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). On October 12, the distribution will start and continue through November.

The recipients of the grants are located in Central Luzon, the Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, Ilocos, and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Because the ECT (Emergency Cash Transfer) program uses financial service providers to handle digital payouts, it reduces security concerns for staff members and logistical requirements, according to Romel Lopez, assistant secretary for strategic communications at the DSWD.

The DSWD's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program include ECT.

In the regions covered by the project, Special Disbursing Officers of the DSWD Field Offices will oversee it. Typhoon Egay struck the nation in July, affecting about 328,000 people, according to reports from local authorities. Five persons were reported dead.
