According to the TAIWAN TODAY, Lithuania’s donation of 235,900 COVID-19 vaccine doses touched down Oct. 9 at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, spotlighting the growing strength of relations between the like-minded partners, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The shipment follows the EU member state’s first donation of 20,000 doses in June, the MOFA said. Such gestures are sincerely appreciated by the government and people, the ministry said.

TAIWAN TODAY says, Lithuania’s donations will help raise Taiwan’s inoculation rate and the resilience of the public health system, the MOFA said, adding that they also demonstrate the partnership between the two sides in jointly combating coronavirus and strengthening the global response to the pandemic.
