The 21st Yunlin International Puppet Theater Festival began this year. A number of highly regarded puppet show teams from across the world have been particularly invited to perform at the Yunlin Puppet Theater and interact with visiting teams from the US, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and Colombia. The "Puppetry Alliance MOU" will be signed one after another in the future to promote more cross-border and cross-cultural interactions and cooperation.

Puppetry, according to international puppeteers, can transcend language boundaries and establish a connection with the audience via storyline and music, particularly when it comes to the richer and more valuable exchanges that occur between various countries. The puppeteers visited local puppetry artists in Taiwan to share their expertise in carving and operating puppets, and they also visited temple fairs to witness puppetry firsthand and get a comprehensive grasp of Taiwan's traditional puppetry culture.

Yunlin County's mayor stated that the Yunlin International Puppet Theater Festival this year has once again invited international teams to come to Taiwan for exchanges due to the easing of the epidemic. These teams include Close Act Theater from the Netherlands, Botella de Arroz Theater Company from Colombia, Kabaré Papal from Germany, and Nina Theater Company from Italy.
