Petr Novotny, a New Immigrant from the Czech Republic, Founder of "Beast Runner," is Praised for His Dedication to Mountain Rescue

The 2022 Immigration Day multicultural events were jointly organized by the Taoyuan City Government, the Mainland Affairs Council, and Ministry of the Interior. Petr Novotny, who has settled in Taiwan for 9 years from the Czech Republic, founded “Beast Runner” website with his wife. He regularly helps with mountain rescue by taking the lead to “instant search” the trapped climbers then report to the rescue team to rescue them with professional equipment. Various sectors of society have praised Petr Novotny for his commitment to Taiwan.

Petr Novotny has a fondness in mountains and forests; he often spends night high in the mountains to map out the area and pathways. He and his indigenous wife have founded the "Beast Runner" website. Since he began helping with mountain rescue seven years ago, Petr Novotny has great physical fitness and always take the lead to "instant search" for trapped climbers and then reports his findings to the rescue team so they can rescue them using specialized equipment.

Many new immigrants consider Taiwan to be their second home and have a strong connection to the country, according to the National Immigration Agency (Taoyuan City Service Center).
