The Xinshe Flower Sea is about to open! Explore a magical mountain town with space-inspired flower landscapes and mushroom cuisine

Taiwan's largest floral festival, "Xinshe Sea of Flowers and Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival," is set to launch this November! The Taichung City Government's Tourism Bureau introduces a new highlight this year, the "Cosmic Flower Landscape" installation art, inviting visitors on a whimsical journey to experience the marvels of nature and creativity combined. Besides the scenic sea of flowers, premier travel agencies were invited for a two-day familiarization tour in September to explore the diverse charm of Taichung's mountain towns.

Known as the "Home of Shiitake Mushrooms," the Xinshe tour begins at "Mushroom House" in the Xinshe commercial area, where travelers can savor authentic mushroom dishes and experience the unique flavors of fresh ingredients. Next is "Xinshe Mushroom Farm," which offers mushroom growth explanations and agro-education activities, including fresh mushroom picking, chicken feeding, and DIY mushroom chawanmushi. On the second day, the journey leads to the "Xinshe Secret Realm Floating World 3000," featuring eco-scenery and exquisite indoor and outdoor art, where visitors learn how local ingredients are incorporated into souvenirs, embodying Xinshe's local culture and innovation. At the "Xinshe District Recreation Agriculture Tourism Development Association (Wishing Star Purple Windmill)," visitors create Hakka red turtle cakes, experiencing the warmth and handmade joys of the Hakka community. Lunch takes place at "Shanmusu Star," where sunlight, moonlight, and starlight converge, offering fresh vegetarian dishes and aromatic coffee to complete the journey.

The final stop is "Little Road Camping Site," where guests handcraft locally grown Mago coffee packets, basking in the aroma against a lakefront setting, embracing the tranquility of Xinshe's nature. The Xinshe Sea of Flowers and Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival draws attention every year, with this year's event running from November 9 to December 1, spanning 23 days over four weekends. Visitors can immerse themselves in a magical flower landscape woven from 200,000 blossoms. This year's highlight, the "Cosmic Flower Landscape" installation art, will undoubtedly captivate the eyes.
