Taiwan International Ballon Festival, Taitung's most exciting annual event, takes place at Taitung Luye Highland every summer from the end of June to the beginning of August. There are more than 50 hot air balloons from different countries, as well as stunning light and fireworks shows.

This year's International Ballon Festival, according to the Transportation and Tourism Development Department, Taitung County, will not only use traditional locations like Nuwalian, Chishang Dapo Pond, Millennium Dawn Memorial Park, and Zhiben Hot Spring, but will also carry out light sculpture shows activities at the Taitung Seashore Park. In Taitung City, the public art that has been incorporated into the environment to become a new attraction.

The balloons at the event not only included well-known cartoon characters from the United States, Britain, and Japan, but they also debuted Mazu-shaped balloons for the first time, showcasing Taiwan's native culture and the distinctive charm of the International Ballon Festival.
