According to PH's first ‘Green Justice Zone' to be unveiled in Palawan | Inquirer News, the first "Green Justice Zone" in the nation will be established by the government in Puerto Princesa City early next month.

Dennis Socrates, the governor of Palawan, and Lucilo Bayron, the mayor of Puerto Princesa, have met with representatives of the Justice Sector Coordinating Council (JSCC), which is chaired by Supreme Court Associate Justice Maria Filomena Singh, to discuss plans for the November 10 opening of the Green Justice Zone in the provincial capital.

When it comes to processes and capacity building, according to PH's first ‘Green Justice Zone' to be unveiled in Palawan | Inquirer News, Singh is the leader of the JSCC Technical Working Group, while Socrates is the leader of the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development.

According to the JSCC, the Green Justice Zone in Palawan City is expected to demonstrate how the national and local governments work together to deliver justice in an effective and efficient manner while protecting the environment and managing natural resources.

The creation of this zone is a component of the countrywide creation of so-called Justice Zones, a project of the justice department. It would be the country's 12th Justice Zone when the Green Justice Zone in Palawan City is established.

The Justice Sector Coordinating Council (JSCC) was established on April 30, 2010, to act as a platform for discussion among institutions in the justice sector on topics of shared interest and as a system for efficient coordination and information exchange in support of planning and carrying out collaborative projects. According to PH's first ‘Green Justice Zone' to be unveiled in Palawan | Inquirer News, it consists of the Supreme Court, the Justice Department, the Interior and Local Government Department, among other things.
