Campus in Yunlin promotes cultural exchanges through cloth making and introducing immigrants’ hometowns

To increase community engagement and promote Southeast Asian culture in Yunlin County, Lunbei Elementary School (崙背國小) has been actively organizing relevant cultural and educational activities, including immigrants learning how to make Vietnamese national costumes. Hence, immigrants would be able to show the beauty of the costumes of their hometowns.

An immigrant from Vietnam introduced to the guests that national clothes represent Vietnamese culture, and they will also wear costumes to attend various occasions and activities.

In addition, these immigrants will don the national costumes and serve in the community to interact with residents and improve cross-cultural communication.

Li Bing Cheng (李秉承), the principal of Lunbei Elementary School, said, “I hope that through the making of clothing, the culture and beauty of the immigrants in Taiwan can be shown.”

Through this activity, immigrants have the opportunity to share and show exotic characteristics of their hometowns. It is hoped that cultural exchanges will further lead to the development of Taiwan's multiculturalism.
