The Labor Affairs Department emphasized that international students who wish to work part-time must apply for a work permit from the Ministry of Labor, with a maximum of 20 working hours per week, except during summer and winter breaks.
Cai Chongfu, director of the Hsinchu City Service Station of the Immigration Agency, noted the many challenges of studying abroad. He encouraged students to stay informed of residency regulations and safeguard their rights while adapting to academic life. For assistance, students can call 03-5243517 or use the “1990” Foreign Nationals' Life Consultation Hotline, which offers multilingual support. For anti-fraud information, students can also contact the "165" anti-fraud hotline to verify any suspicious messages. The agency hopes that international students will feel Taiwan’s warmth and care, focus on their studies, and eventually become a cornerstone of society, contributing to the future development of Taiwan and their own lives.
