Philippine Presidential Spokes Person Harry Roque stated that more than 14.07 million Filipinos have received their first vaccine dose, with a total vaccination rate of only about 12.7&. President Rodrigo Duterte plans to launch another campaign to encourage citizens to get vaccinated. This is also the second campaign Duterte has launched for the same purpose.

Based on a survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) regarding the willingness of Filipinos to get vaccinated, the SWS found 45% of adult Filipinos saying they are willing, 24% saying they are uncertain, and 21% saying they are unwilling to get vaccinated against Covid-19,

According to [South China Morning Post], Duterte said on June 2 in a televised address, “I invite all our countrymen to be vaccinated at the earliest possible opportunity because this is the most, if not the only way, effective way, to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic,”.
“Let us all keep in mind that the vaccine will not only protect you from the virus, it will also protect your loved ones, especially the sick and elderly.”
