On July 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that after assessing the COVID-19 situation in Taiwan, it has decided to extend its nationwide Level 3 epidemic alert until July 26 to protect the health of people in Taiwan, and it will partially lift certain restrictions starting July 13. Details are listed below.

  1. Partial lifting of restrictions and measures:
  2. Conditionally relaxing restrictions on the following venues, activities, or groups (local governments may make appropriate adjustments to certain measures based on their needs of disease prevention and control):
  3. Outdoor venues: national parks, national scenic areas, amusement parks, leisure farms, forest recreation areas, botanical gardens, cultural parks, sports fields of schools, and driving schools.
  4. Indoor venues: galleries, museums, cinemas, performance halls and venues (without an audience), social educational institutions, and cultural centers.
  5. Indoor and outdoor sports grounds and stadiums (except swimming pools) and golf courses.
  6. Dine-in services are allowed in dining venues (restaurants, traditional markets, and night markets, food courts in department stores and supermarkets, eating areas, etc.) that meet the CECC guidelines.
  7. Domestic small tour groups (9 or fewer people) and the filming of film crews.
  8. The above-mentioned relaxation of the measures must adhere to the following principles and the guidelines issued by the regulatory authority of the respective business/industry.
  9. Contact-information-based measures, entrance and exit controls, and crowd control and reduction measures.
  10. Maintaining social distancing and the mandatory mask-wearing at all times except for dining.
  11. Health management among staff members and timely responses to the occurrence of confirmed cases.

  1. Venues that remain closed under the extended Level 3 epidemic alert:
  2. Leisure and entertainment venues: singing and dance venues, nightclubs, bars and clubs, KTVs, MTVs, beauty parlors (tourist parlors and audio-video parlors), massage parlors, fitness and recreational centers (including facilities offering Shiatsu massage services, sauna rooms, and other weight-loss and body toning facilities), bowling alleys, pool halls, indoor golf practice areas employing screens, arcades, video game arcades, Internet cafes, majiang clubs, claw machine arcades, shrimp fishing pools, board game cafes, and other similar venues.
  3. Educational facilities:
  • Community colleges, senior learning centers, training classes (except driving schools), study centers, and other similar venues.
  1. Exhibition and sports competition venues:
  • Event centers and exhibition venues, swimming pools, and other similar venues.
