Crying while binge-watching can leave your eyes not only full of emotion but also red and swollen like walnuts when you wake up. If you need to go out urgently, swollen eyes can be a source of frustration and embarrassment, especially when others notice it during conversations. Luckily, puffy eyes from crying can be quickly reduced by using some simple techniques, helping you regain your bright and lively look.

Massage to Reduce Swelling Immediately After Crying
Eye massage is a powerful tool to quickly reduce swelling. Using your index and middle fingers, gently press from the outer corner of your lower eyelid to the inner corner, then press from the eyelid up to the temples. This helps accelerate fluid drainage and allows your eyes to recover faster. Remember, it’s best to perform this massage right after crying for the most effective results.Eye care doesn’t just refer to the eyes themselves—the surface layer of the surrounding eyelids is also very important. Cold Saline Compress for Quick Relief
A cold saline compress is another effective method. Simply add a small amount of salt to a cup of boiled water, stir well, and place it in the freezer for 5 minutes. After taking it out, soak a cotton pad in the solution and place it on your eyelids for 20 minutes. Salt helps tighten tissues and reduce swelling, and the cold temperature further enhances the soothing effect.

Cold Tea Bag Compress: Tannins for Swelling Reduction
Don’t throw away used black tea bags! Chill them in the fridge for 20 minutes, then wrap them in a cotton pad and place them on your eyes. The tannins in tea can effectively reduce swelling and tighten the skin. Apply for 15 to 30 minutes each time. If using chamomile tea bags, you can also enjoy the anti-inflammatory and sweating effects, which help soothe discomfort around the eyes.

Ice Spoon Method: Convenient and Quick Swelling Reduction
A spoon from your fridge can also become a magic tool for reducing swelling! Put the spoon in the freezer for 10 minutes. After taking it out, use the back of the spoon to gently press on your eyelids, moving from the inner corner of the eye to the temples, until the spoon is no longer cold. This trick is both simple and effective.

Other Causes of Eye Swelling and Solutions
Crying isn’t the only reason for swollen eyes. Other factors such as eating too much salty food, allergies, or a stye can also cause swelling. If the swelling is due to eating too much salty food, it’s recommended to have a low-salt, low-oil dinner and avoid excessive liquid intake. For allergy-induced swelling, use a cold compress to relieve discomfort. For styles, follow your doctor’s instructions for treatment and apply moderate heat to promote blood circulation.
