National Tainan Chia-Chi Senior High School (CCSH) currently invites foreign students from Chinese Language Center (CLC), National Cheng Kun University (NCKU) to the experience of British afternoon tea culture. Seniors of department of catering demonstrated British afternoon tea etiquette in English, such as how to serve teacups, the order of tasting on the three-tier palate, and the matching herbal tea drinks.

CCSH and Chinese Language Center (CLC), National Cheng Kun University (NCKU)  have jointly organized the “Big Hands Hold Small Hands” Project of K-12 Education Administration(國教署), Ministry of Education (MOE) several times, allowing foreign students who come to Taiwan to learn Chinese to learn and communicate with local high school students through cultural experience activities. The foreign students of CLC of NCKU who participated in this event came from 11 countries including Turkey, Mozambique, Saint Vincent, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, and New Zealand.

A German student named Ran, Shi-Bi questioned why the food in Tainan is so sweet and whether a lot of sugar has been added during the event. The response from a student in the catering department, CCHS made Ran, Shi-Bi suddenly realize that not all dishes use sugar, that different dishes have different ingredients, and that certain ingredients have a sweet taste. In order to prepare for her September enrollment at NCKU, An Xi-Li from St. Vincent traveled to Taiwan. She can already sense Taiwanese warmth and humanity after only a few days.
