The Taoyuan City Service Station of the Northern District Affairs Brigade of the Immigration Agency recently held a "New Immigrant Family Education and Legal Advocacy Course." The course covered the latest legal regulations and employment information and invited a Vietnamese new immigrant Mrs. Linh My Phuong to share her experiences in Taiwan and teach participants how to make handmade clay succulent plant pots. Through artistic creation, the activity aimed to enhance marital relationships and family harmony.
The course also featured Q Burger, a company recognized as an immigrant-friendly workplace. The business introduced its initiatives tailored for new immigrants, such as multilingual work manuals, diverse communication channels, and a dream entrepreneurship program to protect the employment rights of new immigrants. The course encouraged unemployed immigrants or those seeking a job change to join Q Burger. Additionally, the Immigration Agency’s Ethics Office highlighted key amendments to the "Immigration Act" this year, emphasizing the importance of legal compliance and the prevention of corruption risks, such as bribing public officials.

Mrs. Linh My Phuong has lived in Taiwan for seven years and initially faced challenges related to language, culture, and lifestyle. By participating in government empowerment courses for new immigrants, she gained confidence and obtained certifications in catering and baking, successfully integrating into Taiwanese life. Grateful for the government's support, she became a volunteer and interpreter and served as a domestic violence prevention lecturer at the Taoyuan Family Protection Center, helping new immigrants understand available assistance. During the activity, she taught clay crafting techniques, allowing participants to enjoy hands-on creativity and strengthen bonds through couples' and parent-child creations, creating a warm atmosphere.

Taoyuan Service Station Director Huang Ying-kuei stated that this year, the Immigration Agency has promoted the "New Immigrant Employment-Friendly Workplace Program" and set up a dedicated section on the New Immigrant Empowerment and Development Information Network. Interested companies are welcome to apply, and after review by the Immigration Agency and the Ministry of Labor, relevant information will be made public online to facilitate new immigrants' access to suitable job opportunities.
